Immunotherapy, a hope for all cancers?

Metastatic lung cancer, but also metastatic cancer of the bladder, liver, esophagus, stomach, kidney…The immunotherapy treatments show efficacy in an increasing number of cancers. The 2015 edition of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) that was held from 29th May to 2nd June has made this therapeutic approach a central theme. Thus, three quarters of the presented studies were referring to these treatments. Without disfavoring the other strategies – targeted therapies and chemotherapies – it represents a revolution in the treatment of metastatic tumors.
